Pastors have a special place in my heart. They have a special calling on their lives to lead people. To walk through life with people. To disciple people. To hurt with people. To celebrate with people. To serve people. To love people. And people are messy!

I always like to observe the heart of the pastor whenever he is not behind the pulpit. How does he meet needs? How does he serve? Does he seek recognition? Is his daily life a reflection of Jesus?

What do I observe in the life of Pastor Adan? A man who has a desire to lead, disciple, serve, and preach to the people in Iglesia JET. However, he does soooo much more than anyone really knows.

He spends hours traveling to the communities to investigate families who need houses. He works with the local pastors and leaders of the community to establish relationships and to make it possible for teams to serve in the area. He has put a lot of miles on his truck by driving through some rough terrain.

He is in the school kitchen at 4:30 each morning preparing breakfast. He doesn’t even hesitate when the monthly delivery of groceries for 250 people arrives. He organizes everything! He takes inventory at the end of each month to make sure we are being good stewards with our resources.

He will do concrete, build houses, travel with the teams, cook for the school, organize food, cook for the youth, work as security, etc. Whatever we need him to do then he is there.

Of course, he has a godly, woman serving alongside him. Mrs. Cori teaches and serves constantly. She has a passion to see the women in our church discipled through Bible study. She works as a full-time nurse in the city and a part time nurse at the Grace Clinic. She is excellent at organizing events and equipping others to serve. Pastor Adan and Cori give generously to others. They have a tremendous work ethic. I am convinced that they never sleep.

I have driven up to my house to find Pastor Adan on the back end of a weedeater cutting my grass. He never seeks recognition, but quietly serves our family. Cori will send me a pitcher of my favorite Christmas punch. My oldest daughter calls them Pastor Adan and Mama Cori. I am grateful that God has placed their family in our lives. They pray for us. They encourage us. They support us. They serve with us.

We are grateful for Pastor Adan and Mrs. Cori!
