Today is the day we have anticipated for the past six years! Graduation Day! We have prayed for this day. We have dreamed of this day. We have worked tirelessly for this day. Today is the day!
In October of 2018 the Lord impressed on my heart and my dad’s heart the need to provide a quality education for the most impoverished the children of the El Tejar area. We met with a lady from the education department and was kindly told that it would simply not be possible on our timeline, but God had other plans. God used people to make our vision and His will possible. God provided the positive answers needed, the finances for the building, the construction of the school building in almost record time, the teachers, administrators, workers, et cetera and on February 7, 2020 Colegio JET was dedicated to the glory of God.
Today, Saturday, November 1, 2025, we will see another step in God being faithful to His promises. Seventeen seniors at Colegio JET will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas as the first graduating class in our history. To say that we are excited would be a major understatement. What a day this will be!
Today is the “day of the dead” in Guatemala. It is only fitting that on this day that we get to proclaim that we serve a risen, living Savior. His name is Jesus!
My uncle Eddie will be our keynote speaker. He was very instrumental in helping raise the finances for the construction of the school building and much more. A thank you goes to him and the countless others who have prayed, given financially, sponsored students, come on trips, and more. It has definitely been a “we are better together” effort.
Of course, we give all glory to God! He is worthy! Because of Him, seventeen students will leave the Colegio JET campus today with hope!
